Darts night hits the charity bullseye

Mitchell Jaeckle was joined by fellow players, friends and family at a special darts night he held at Lanesfield Royal British Legion in Wolverhampton, and they collectively had a whale of a time.

“We had a disco and all the players had their own entrance music – mine was Billy Ocean’s Red Light Spells Danger,” said Mitchell.

“All the players paid £5 to enter and had sponsorship forms plus we raised more money through a raffle where we had some great prizes donated. People were so generous, and we also had a good time raising the cash. Lanesfield RBL also gave us the room free of charge.”

Mitchell, who is a delivery driver for Dreams, said he was motivated to raise money for Your RWTC, The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust’s charity, because of the care his dad had through the Heart and Lung Centre.

“He “died” three times and the team managed to bring him back to us, they are just brilliant. He had to have a triple bypass, and my mum also had to have open heart surgery. I’m just so grateful for the care they had, the whole family is, and I wanted to give something back.”

Lindsey Wagstaff, Community & Events Fundraising Officer for Your RWTC, said: “A big thank you to Mitchell and his fellow darters – this is an amazing amount of money for our Heart and Lung Centre.

“It was a pleasure to meet Mitchell and we wish his mum and dad all the best for the future.”
