It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust
Christmas arrived at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT) as staff and patients got into the festive spirit with the annual lights switch-on.

The fundraising event, organised by Your RWTC, the registered charity of RWT, welcomed people of all ages to the ED Marquee at New Cross Hospital.
The day began with a Christmas market where staff, patients and visitors browsed a variety of seasonal stalls.
One of the stall holders, Jo Dudley from Crafts and Things, said there was a lovely atmosphere in the marquee.
She said: “It has been a great day today. I have been coming to this event for the past four years and it keeps getting better.
“I think it is so important to support the staff and patients – especially at Christmas time.
“There has been a lovely atmosphere and I will keep on supporting the charity.”
The official switch-on took place at 4.30pm and was carried out by Gwen Nuttall, RWT Managing Director, alongside the Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Craig Collingswood and his daughter, Abby Collingswood, the Mayoress.
Father Christmas also joined the celebrations, greeting the crowds and having photos taken.
Before the switch-on, Highfields School in Wolverhampton entertained the crowds with a series of well-known Christmas classics and pop songs.
Amanda Winwood, Charity Development Manager, said: “Thank you to all the staff holders, staff and members of the public for coming out to support us.
“It has been a wonderful day.
“A special thank you to E H Humphries, Cotswold Lifts, Bry-Kol, ABGO, Eyre and Elliston, C T Pumps and Wolverson Xray for donating to help light up the hospital sites.
“Also, a huge thank you to our Estates Team – the effort you have gone to has been amazing.
“It was great to see so many happy, smiling faces. It is a real highlight of our calendar, and I am glad so many people could come out and enjoy the festivities.”
Councillor Collingswood said: “It has been amazing to be here at New Cross Hospital. Before switching the lights on, we entered the marquee and saw the fantastic items on sale.
“The charity is one of our chosen charities this year, and we have been collecting money for them all year round for the wonderful work they do.
“Merry Christmas, everyone.”
