We’re celebrating the 78th NHS birthday in style again this year, with our annual Summer Fair packed full of fun and supported by fantastic local businesses.
Come along on Monday 6 July 2026 to the Emergency Department Marquee at New Cross Hospital, where you’ll find a brilliant range of local businesses and stall holders, games and activities for all ages and plenty of treats, surprises and summer fair favourites.
It’s also a great opportunity to find out more about our Transforming Care Together strategy and see how your role can play a vital part in our collective efforts to make healthcare fit for the future for all.
Whether you’re popping over on your break or making an afternoon of it with your team, there’ll be something for everyone. A great chance to relax, connect and celebrate everything
that makes the NHS special.

Events Volunteer
We are looking for volunteers to help out at our events. This could include supporting the team with developing events, welcoming participants, or cheering our runners and cyclists on. Whatever your role on the day, we guarantee you’ll have an amazing time!
Promoter
Do you like meeting people and enjoy striking up conversations with people of all ages across our communities? If so, our Promoter role could be the one for you! This would require you to have pop up stands within the hospital and local community, visit local shops and businesses and promote the work of The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust Charity and ask them if they would like a Charity collection tin. Every few months you would be responsible for swapping the tins for an empty one and returning the full ones to us.
Arts and Heritage
This role is to support our exciting Arts and Heritage programme and our community project ‘Care, Create, Conserve’, which is based in a new Healthcare Heritage Hub. This role will support the successful delivery of the project with volunteers acting as ambassadors, engaging the public with the heritage on display in the Hub, and assisting with the events and workshops which take place in the space. You will be a friendly face to invite the public to explore the exhibition and will facilitate conversations around Wolverhampton’s healthcare heritage and the experience of healthcare today. As a part of this role, you will also have the opportunity to attend specialised training, learning new skills and gaining experience in areas including collections management, conservation, and curation.
