Fundraising champs ready for royal recognition

Champion fundraisers Jason and Aimee Guy, whose tireless efforts have supported patients, families and staff across The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust for many years, will receive some royal recognition at a Buckingham Palace garden party this week.

Despite dealing with the daily challenges of caring for their daughter Olivia, who lives with the rare 1p36 deletion syndrome and has complex medical needs, the couple have continued to channel their energy into helping others. Their commitment to making a difference has seen them raise significant funds not only for Your RWTC, the Trust’s charity, but also for several other causes close to their hearts.

And they are all set to attend Buckingham Palace next Friday 8 May, to rub shoulders with fellow selfless volunteers – and royalty.

“We’re really looking forward to going to London next week and were thrilled to have been nominated by Your RWTC,” said Jason. “We’re proud to support Your RWTC to give back for the care that Olivia has had over the years and because it’s important to us to try to help others where we can.”

The impact of their fundraising, which has included marathons, sponsored walks and even a tattoo, has been felt across the Trust, helping to enhance patient experience, provide comfort to families, and support staff wellbeing. Their efforts have funded vital equipment, improved environments, and contributed to projects that go above and beyond what the NHS can provide.

Amanda Winwood, Charity Development Manager said,

“Jason and Aimee are extraordinary supporters of our charity.

“Their strength, compassion and determination inspire everyone who meets them. The difference they have made to our patients, their families and our staff is exceptional, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they continue to do. We hope they have a fabulous day at the palace – they deserve it!”
