Introducing…charity Patron Jason

A champion fundraiser and proud Wulfrunian has agreed to become the first Patron of Your RWTC, The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust’s charity.

Jason Guy is well known across the city and beyond for the tireless support he and wife Aimee have shown for good causes and the couple have raised many hundreds of thousands of pounds to support Breast Cancer Now, New Cross Hospital’s Neonatal Unit and 1p36 Family Trust.

The couple’s young daughter Olivia has 1p36, a rare condition that typically causes severe intellectual disability and complex medical needs. She also spent around six weeks in the Neonatal Unit at New Cross from October 2020.

Jason, who is a massive Wolves fan, said it was “a huge honour” when he was asked to become a Patron.

“As a parent of a disabled daughter, who has been cared for by the Trust, I have seen first-hand the tireless work the staff at the hospital have done for my family and that of others.

“To be named as the first patron for Your RWTC is not only humbling but a huge honour as I know the hard work that each dedicated staff member and fundraiser puts in.

“I am proud to be given the responsibility of such a position and will continue to promote the excellent work that the Trust does for our community and beyond.  My family will be eternally grateful for the care and support that we have received and that’s why we must continue to give back.”

Businessman and mentor Jason has supported a host of fundraising events through Your RWTC including the Paediatric garden makeover off the Children’s Ward and in his role as Patron he will be inspiring others to get on board as well as helping to raise the profile of the charity and awareness of the work it does.

Amanda Winwood, Charity Development Manager, said: “Jason embodies all the qualities we want in a Patron – he is dedicated to making a real difference in his local community, goes out of his way to help others and is a role model for so many people.

“His emotional reaction to being asked to become our first Patron just showed how much he cares about the work we are doing and how compassionate he is, and we are thrilled he has agreed to take on the role.”

Your RWTC supports patients, families, and staff across the Trust, funding projects that enhance care, improve wellbeing, and create better experiences for everyone who needs its services.
