Your RWTC makes a splash
Four fundraising teams of Wolverhampton NHS staff and local businesses made a real splash for charity when they took part in this year’s Dragon Boat Race at Himley Hall.

They were supporting Your RWTC, The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust’s charity, in the event organised by the Wolverhampton Rotary Club.
Teams were made up of enthusiastic staff from across The Trust and partner organisations. One crew represented palliative care and bereavement services, rowing in support of a current fundraising campaign. Another team brought together colleagues from the GEM Centre and the Integrated Care Board (ICB), demonstrating the strength of collaboration across local health services.
Your RWTC was also supported by valued corporate partners, including Staff Today, Wolverhampton Genting Casino and ABGO, whose involvement helped make the day a true community effort. A special highlight came when TWGC (Team Wolverhampton Genting Casino) was awarded the prestigious “NHS Team of the Day” award, earning well‑deserved congratulations for its enthusiasm and teamwork.
Jason Guy, Managing Director at Staff Today said:
“It was great being involved in YOUR RWTC’s first dragon boat race at Himley. Our team were raring to go and got highest score in the first heat!. Being able to support the charity and make a difference to our community means a great deal to my family and Team Olivia.”

Adding colour and sparkle to the event earlier this month, Your RWTC was also joined by Ruby Doo Events, offering glitter face painting and temporary tattoos that proved a hit with families and spectators.

Nathan Hardy, Manager at ABGO said
“It was fantastic to take part in the event and represent the charity, even with the classic unpredictable British weather making an appearance. The atmosphere throughout the day was brilliant, and it was great to see so many teams and supporters coming together for such a fun event.”
“We really wanted to support Your RWTC and do our bit for the local community, while helping to raise funds for people who truly need it.”
Amie Rogers, Fundraising and Lead Digital Engagement Officer for Your RWTC added
“What an incredible day for Your RWTC. Our teams showed determination, teamwork and a lot of heart out on the water.
“The support from Trust staff, corporate partners and the wider community was fantastic and we’re thrilled to see Team Genting Casino recognised as NHS Team of the Day. Every stroke helped raise vital funds and we couldn’t be more proud. Fundraising pages are still open and we are hoping to raise over £8,000 to support our work going above and beyond for our patients, their families and our staff.”
